Training
Subway requires franchisees to complete approximately 26 hours of web-based courses, 10 hours of facilitated classroom training, and 60 hours of on-the-job training at a local Subway restaurant. Training is free for the first two persons; additional persons cost $7,500 each.
Territory
Subway does not grant exclusive territories; franchisees receive no territorial rights and there are no radius restrictions. Subway retains unlimited rights to compete through any distribution channel, under the Subway mark or any other mark, at any location.
Support
Subway provides assigned Business Developers for periodic consultations, access to the Operations Manual and University of Subway online platform, and a Technology Support Center for POS issues. A national Advertising Fund (4.5% of gross sales) is managed by SFAFT.
