How Goldfish Swim School compares
Compared against the 39 education brands in our database.
Training
Initial training is approximately 13 required days covering orientation, operations, marketing, sales/technology, in-school mentoring, and swimologist instruction, held partly virtually and partly in-person at Troy, Michigan headquarters. Staff must obtain CPR/First Aid/AED and shallow water lifeguard certifications, and managers need CPO certification. Up to 4 refresher sessions per year (max 8 days) may be required.
Territory
Franchisees receive an exclusive designated area determined by population of children under 12, proximity to competitors, and natural/political boundaries. The franchisor will not establish other schools in the area while the franchisee is not in default. Exclusivity is not dependent on sales quotas, but the franchisor reserves rights to sell through alternative channels and under other trademarks.
Support
Pre-opening: site selection criteria, lease review, build-out specifications, Approved Supplies list, and up to 3 days of on-site opening assistance for the first school. Post-opening: periodic visits with written reports, telephone/email guidance, access to the 227-page Confidential Brand Standards Manual, and ongoing operations assistance at $600/day.
